Workshop Description
This workshop will feature basics for making Japanese bento boxes with cute characters made out of an assortment of different foods. You will learn fundamental techniques that can be applied to create a number of bento characters and decorations. The workshop will also help you translate two-dimensional characters into food to be put in a bento box. Tools for making bento boxes will be demonstrated to help you get started making your own bento.

Instructor Biography
Anna was born in Japan and came to the United States in 1994.  She graduated from The School of Visual Arts as a sculpture major. Currently, she  works for Media Blasters in New York City as a translator for Japanese animation DVDs and as a creative producer for the on-line card game Alteil. In her spare time she makes plush toys and character bento boxes.  Visit her blog AnnaThe Red’s Bento Factory.

Yes, you will get to use a variety of foods to practice different bento techniques.
