Workshop Description
This workshop is for anyone interested in illustration, animation, mythology, and visual storytelling. Character Design is the combination of a profound analysis of persistent human visual mythology and the creative application of subliminal visual metaphor. Learn how to achieve creative success through character design by unlocking the timeless power of myth and metaphor. During this workshop, we will discuss successful character design, sketching techniques, and explore how to create characters visually in a manner that will resonate with an audience. Mythophoric Character Design brings understanding, intuitive and conscious choice to what a character’s designs are actually communicating to our audience; it’s what makes one character an “also-ran” and another a generational pop culture icon.
