This is a picture framing workshop that will focus on different approaches to framing from ready-made frames purchased in a store to custom framing. Participants will learn various approaches to presenting and preserving work that will include an introduction to archival methods and products. Mounting and hinging techniques will be covered as well as different matting styles, fitting and finishing of framing artwork.
At 18 Kassie Teng began working in her mother’s frameshop and art gallery and she now has over 10 years of experience. Teng learned the profession of picture framing and design from her mother, a professional picture framer with more than 25 years of experience in the business, and who has owned her own Frameshop and Art Gallery for 15 years. Teng earned her MA and MFA in Graphics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007 while working at Tandem Press currating prints and assisting in their frameshop.
