Vintage Photography: Polaroid Transfers

Workshop description
Create one-of-a-kind works of art from your own slides using Polaroid Image and Emulsion Transfer techniques. In this workshop students will learn to transfer color slides via instant film onto paper and assorted surfaces to create emulsion lifts from instant prints and negatives. Students should contact the instructor in advance of the workshop for advice about transferring digital images to slide film.

Instructor Biography
Jen Barrows is the Technology Support Specialist for the Jewett Arts Center at Wellesley College. Jen holds a Masters of Fine Art in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University, where she primarily worked in photography and video performance. Her current body of work deals with the formation of the American identity through the lens of pop culture including Nascar, Rocky Balboa, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
