Workshop Description
This workshop provides an introduction in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and drafting techniques with a focus on architecture and site design.  Using AutoCAD 2012,  you will learn to translate design ideas into technical drawings according to industry standards.  You will gain the ability to set-up CAD files, navigate through the fundamental commands of the software, and export/plot the drawings for review. The workshop will combine lectures and hands-on exercises.  This workshop is highly recommended for all architecture majors.

Instructor Biography
Yuna Kim is a Wellesely College alumna interested in architectural projects and city planning that explore effective green design and renewable energy strategies.  Her work experiences range from reinventing small affordable housing in Cambridge to designing large scale cultural tower in Mumbai, India. She has also worked as an energy consultant analyzing energy use, evaluating building systems, and researching cost/benefit of potential improvements.  Yuna has done a series of large scale art projects and proposals using various media. Some of herrecent projects are String Tunnel (2011, featured at MIT’s 150th anniversary), Cambridge Street Go Bike (2010, featured at Cambridge City Hall as one of the top 10 entries to improve Cambridge Street).
