This workshop will introduce concepts and methods to visually realize a narrative in storyboards. You will gain important skills in storyboarding which can be applied to film, video, animation, and illustration work and projects. Narrative ideas such as timing and point of view will be covered in conjunction with approaches to drawing which will help facilitate clarity, variety, and innovation in the storyboarding process. This workshop is essential for students who are currently taking film, video, animation, or digital media courses.
Alex Hart is a director, animator, and designer who works in a wide range of multimedia. He was an animator for several years at Olive Jar Studios, Inc. an Art Director/Senior Designer at Hewlett Packard until becoming a Senior Designer at Gamelogic. His films have been shown at several national and international film festivals, including ASIFA San Francisco, ASIFA East New York City as well as the Ottawa International Student Animation Festival. He has taught at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and currently teaches Computer Animation in the Film/Animation/Video Department at the Rhode Island School of Design.
